Tony Jones
2018 Arkansas Student Leadership Forum Alum
Administrative Assistant to Justice Robin Wynne on the Arkansas Supreme Court
Tony Jones attended the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, where he majored in media communications with a minor in political science. In college, he held several leadership roles including Vice President of the Student Government Association, resident assistant, and a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. After graduating in 2016, Tony went on to attend law school at the University of Arkansas.
While at the University of Arkansas -- Fort Smith, Tony had the opportunity to attend ASLF. He still considers it one of the most meaningful experiences of his collegiate career.
“ASLF both strengthened my leadership skills and helped equip me with the tools to grow deeper and more meaningful relationships. For me, the Forum not only helped model what true leadership looks like, it helped shift my perspective to how I could implement that model into my daily life.”
One portion of the Forum that students always find value in are the home dinners, where small groups go to the homes of local couples for a home-cooked meal and time to connect as a group. Tony found it to be a Forum highlight, and, “loved having the space to be authentic and vulnerable with my group in a way that few people often are able to. It was so nice to hear the triumphs and lessons that my peers were dealing with and how they related to my own.”
Tony graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in May of 2020. He was recently admitted to the Bar of Arkansas in April 2021. He now works as the administrative assistant to Justice Robin Wynne on the Arkansas Supreme Court. He will also be getting married in January 2022! Tony still uses key concepts he learned from the Forum in his day-to-day life.
“The Forum grew my understanding and ability to be a servant leader. It helped me see the value of this leadership model, and its true ability to help reform communities. These are skills that I still use to this day both in personal and professional environments. “
